How much do paid Ecwid accounts cost?

Paid "Silver" Ecwid account costs $USD 17 per month.

 

 

What will I get if I purchase paid accounts?

How often will be I charged? 

You will be charged monthly. We're using 2Checkout payment gateway for secure recurring transactions.

 

 

How can I upgrade to the paid account?

It is easy, just follow these steps:

  • log in to your Ecwid control panel at my.ecwid.com. If you have several stores, please make sure that you've logged in to an account you want to upgrade.
  • go to the "My Profile" page. 
  • press the "Get Premium Features" button. You will be redirected to our payment gateway. After the payment you will be redirected back to your upgraded store.

 

 

Will I need to redo the store if I upgrade it?

No, you don't need to create a new account or redo the store in order to upgrade. Your existing Ecwid account will be upgraded, so you will keep all your products and store settings.

 

 

What is your refund policy?

We do not provide refunds for paid accounts. They're NON-REFUNDABLE.

Ecwid has free accounts with no time limits. They have all the features necessary to run a web store. We believe they're enough to check if Ecwid suits you needs and if you need paid accounts.

 

 

I have an issue or question about my payment. What should I do?

Can I cancel my subscription? When can I do it?

You can cancel your subscription for paid account at any time. In order to do it, log in to your Ecwid control panel, go to the "My Profile" page and click the "Cancel Subscription" link.

 

 

Will you delete my products, if I downgrade?

If you have more products than the free plan allows and downgrade your account, then no products will be deleted automatically. However you will not be able to add new items. 

It means that if your account is accidentally downgraded because of a billing error or you forgot to renew it, your store will still sell all your products and will be available for your visitors.

 

 

What will happen if you cannot charge my credit card for some reasons?

If the next charge of your credit card fails, 2Checkout will send you an e-mail with the warning. Then you will have seven days to fix the issue. On the seventh day 2Checkout will try to charge your credit card again. If this attempt fails too, on the next day Ecwid will cancel your subscription and downgrade your account to the free version.

It's highly recommended that you contact our team at billing@ecwid.com if you get a warning message and don't know its exact cause.

 

 

Will free accounts be always available?

Yes, sure. Free Ecwid accounts will be always available.

 

 

Can I purchase a paid account using PayPal?

Unfortunately, only a credit cart can be used to upgrade to the Silver plan and automatically prolongate it every month. Our payment gateway, 2Checkout, doesn't support PayPal for recurring billings in the "one-page checkout" mode at this moment, sorry.

 

However, if PayPal is the only available option for you and you cannot pay by credit card, then we can offer you a workaround. How it works:

  • we send you a special link, you open it and pay via PayPal

  • then you inform us of the payment and we upgrade your store manually.

When this method is used, there are no automatic recurring charges every month. So if you want to pay by PayPal, it is necessary to purchase 12 months of the Silver plan. Your account will not be renewed automatically after the year passes, so it will be necessary to contact us again.

 

If you want to use PayPal to upgrade your store, please contact us and send us a link to your store (or your Store ID).

 

 

Can I pay by credit cart other than Visa or Mastercard? For example American Express

Yes, it is possible. At this time you can pay by Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express or Diners credit cards.

Can I change the billing information/email address/credit card on my recurring order?

Yes, it is possible. To continue paying for your Ecwid account with another payment card you can just cancel your current subscription (nothing is lost) and start a new one with the other card. This is the most simple and straightforward way to change your billing information that you can use at any moment.

 

You can also change your billing information without cancelling your current subscription. In order to do this, you should contact our payment gateway, 2Checkout, for help.

 

 

How can I get printable receipts for my recurring orders?

If you need printable receipts, then please contact our payment gateway, 2Checkout. You need to submit a request with a 2Checkout ID of your sale to the 2CheckOut.com customer service at www.2checkout.com/support and they will provide you with a printable version of invoices.

 

 

When I try paying for my subscription, I get 'Do not honor' error. What does it mean?  

Ecwid uses 2Checkout payment gateway to collect the money for paid accounts. When you subscribe to a paid plan, Ecwid redirects you to the payment page at 2Checkout site. At that page you need to fill in the form with your addresses and payment card credentials. 2Checkout then contacts the bank that issued your payment card and tries to start the money transaction. 

 

Your bank may allow the transaction immediately - the money for your paid Ecwid account will be deducted from your payment card balance and you will get subscribed to Ecwid premium feature, or the bank may respond to the 2Checkout with an error - no money will change hands and you will not be upgraded, but 2Checkout will show you the error it received from your bank. Every error always contains the reason why the transaction failed.

 

One of such possible reasons is 'Do not honor'. This reason stands for this: the bank has cancelled your transaction for an undisclosed reason. Most probably, some internal policies of your bank do not allow them to accept this transaction. To find out the real reason why that happens, you need to contact your bank's customer care service.

 

Unfortunately, this means that most probably you will not be able to pay for Ecwid premium features subscription with this exact card. Here are the alternative ways to pay for subscription in such situation:

1. Get a special payment card capable of Internet payments. If your bank does not allow paying with your current card on the Internet, most probably they offer a service where you can get a special payment card for that. There are also services that allow you to obtain a virtual payment card (for example, Russian users can easily use the QIWI cards to pay for their Ecwid accounts)
